Overview
The Roles & Permissions page manages user access control across the platform. It defines what actions users can perform and which resources they can access.
This page is central to security, segregation of duties, and operational governance.
Purpose
Roles & Permissions allow organizations to:
- Control access to sensitive features and data
- Assign responsibilities based on job functions
- Enforce least-privilege security principles
1. Roles List
Displays all defined roles in the system.
Each role includes:
- Role name
- Creation Date
Access Control Rules
- Only authorized administrators can create or modify roles
- Some system roles may be predefined and not fully editable
2. Permissions Matrix
For each role, administrators can configure permissions such as:
- View / create / edit / delete actions
- Access to modules (units, geofences, reports, settings, etc.)
- Administrative or read-only privileges
Permissions are typically grouped by functional area.
Role Assignment
- Roles are assigned to users from the User Management module
- Changes to roles take effect immediately
Best Practices
- Create roles based on real operational responsibilities
- Avoid assigning excessive permissions
- Review roles regularly as organizational needs evolve
