CONTENTS

Overview

The Geofences Dashboard provides a focused, visual, and real‑time view of selected geofences. It allows users to monitor geofence coverage on the map and quickly identify how many units are currently inside each geofence.

This dashboard is designed for operational monitoring, not historical analysis, and supports multiple display modes to suit different workflows.

Purpose

The Geofences Dashboard helps users to:

  • Monitor activity within specific geofences in near real time
  • Quickly identify which geofences currently contain active units
  • Visually validate geofence shapes and coverage areas
  • Focus attention on a limited set of critical or operationally important geofences
A maximum of 15 geofences can be displayed at the same time.

Page Components

1. Header Information

The header section provides global context and controls for the dashboard:

  • Page title: Geofences Dashboard
  • Last Update: Shows the timestamp of the most recent data refresh
  • Geofence selector: Allows users to search for and select geofences to display (up to 15)

2. Geofence Selection Area

Selected geofences are displayed at the top of the page as tags or compact cards.

Each selected geofence shows:

  • Geofence name
  • Number of units currently inside the geofence

Users can:

  • Remove a geofence using the ✕ icon
  • Replace it by selecting another geofence from the selector

Display Modes

The Geofences Dashboard supports two display modes, allowing users to switch between visual validation and high‑level monitoring.

A. Map Cards View

This view displays each selected geofence inside an individual map card.

Each map card includes:

  • Geofence name
  • Embedded map preview showing the geofence shape and boundaries
  • Action icons:
    • View: Opens the geofence on the main map in detailed view
    • Edit (if permitted): Opens the geofence edit screen
    • Delete (if permitted): Deletes the geofence
    • Expand: Displays the geofence map in full‑screen mode

Recommended for:

  • Visual validation of geofence geometry
  • Confirming coverage accuracy
  • Spatial comparison between multiple geofences

B. List View (Summary)

image

This view displays selected geofences as compact summary cards without map previews.

Each geofence card shows:

  • Geofence name
  • Number of units currently inside the geofence
  • Remove (✕) option
💡

Drill-down details:

Clicking a geofence card opens a detailed table view that lists the units currently inside that geofence, along with their key details (to help you quickly inspect which units are inside).

Recommended for:

  • Quick daily monitoring
  • High-level operational tracking
  • Reducing visual clutter when monitoring many geofences
  • Fast drill-down from a summary count to the unit list inside a specific geofence

Unit Count Indicator

  • The number displayed next to each geofence represents the currently detected units inside the geofence
  • A value of 0 indicates that no units are currently inside the geofence
  • Unit counts update automatically based on the latest available location data

Actions

Add Geofences

  • Use the geofence selector in the header to add geofences to the dashboard
  • A maximum of 15 geofences can be displayed simultaneously

Remove Geofences

  • Click the ✕ icon next to a geofence to remove it from the dashboard view

Switch View Mode

  • Use the view toggle icon in the top‑right corner to switch between:
    • Map Cards View
    • List View (Summary)

Best Practices

  • Select only operationally relevant geofences to avoid overcrowding the dashboard
  • Use Map Cards View when validating geofence configuration or boundaries
  • Use List View for fast, routine operational checks
  • Unit counts depend on:
    • Device connectivity
    • Location reporting frequency
    • Accuracy of geofence configuration
